NOTE:

A drawing of the Finimenti in pelle ebrea, Alta scuola militare Oberklandertan-Wien (inv. 311) sculpture, photocopied, cut out and pasted onto a black background, in the middle of grey-blue cardboard. The horse is missing one leg and its tail. As Mauri specifies on the rear of the frame, it seemingly emerges from the darkness, as if in a dream or a nightmare. A white label on the coloured passe-partout, to the left of the horse, displays the title Cavallo SS (inv. 3247). Lower down in the centre, the words ‘Der Politische Ventilator’, in Gothic-German script, refer to the eponymous book (inv. 205) on the artist’s ideological works between 1970 and 1973. Framed openly inside a transparent plastic bag, the work was displayed in the 1995 ‘Trasparenze. Il Sogno del Cavallo’ exhibition.
