Picture composed of a ‘first-generation’ paper Schermo (Screen) detached from its original frame (still retaining its shape), glued to a teal-coloured canvas base, mounted in turn onto a black cardboard background. A dark indigo piece of paper wraps around the bottom of the panel, leaving the centre of the screen visible with the words ‘EINSTEIN’ and ‘FINE’ (THE END) written in transfer letters over a graphite erasure. For greater insight into the concept of ‘schermo’ in Mauri’s work, see the introductory essays.
