A reel of film placed on a shelf projecting from the lower edge of a monochrome canvas, glazed in dark micaceous grey. First exhibited and published in 2001, the work was completed in 2007 with the addition of objects: a drawing square, a spool of copper wire, a pen, an electrical cord, an eraser, some string, an upturned ink bottle; a strip of doormat hangs off the lower edge. Mauri described it as ‘an empty girafilm against the night. Any story can be projected onto the dark screen.’1
