NOTE:

Traces of large fingerprints appear imprinted on a reel-wound movie film, an effect achieved by adding a printed acetate strip to the outer perimeter, behind the last layer of film, simulating larger- than-human-sized fingerprints. At the top, in the centre of the reel, an aluminium disc bears the work’s title, Orme di Dio, and the date ‘2004’. Mauri created and donated the work to the Horti lamiani di Roma association for its ‘L’impronta globale’ (The Global Footprint) exhibition, which ended with a charity auction for the Buenos Aires Madres de Plaza de Mayo. The film is today mounted on an iron base made by collectors to a Fabio Mauri design.
