Vertical graphic composition divided into two halves, featuring the iconic photo from the Ebrea performance (inv. 3476), juxtaposed with a photograph of a Nazi audience, including Adolf Hitler at the centre. Occupying the upper part of the panel, a girl’s face looms like a dense cloud over the seated Führer and his companions’ illuminated faces. Through this and the ironic title – Brava gente – Mauri nailed the image to a silent judgement. Three versions of the artwork exist (inv. 630, 631, 672), each in a different format, finish and printing technique, plus an artist’s poster produced for the 2005 ‘War is Over’ exhibition at GAMeC.
