NOTE:

Two-colour photolithograph printed on cotton paper. In addition to the 100-copy regular edition, ten special copies with Roman numerals were made, and the same number of artist’s proofs. The print was produced by the historic Roman workshop belonging to Romolo and Rosalba Bulla, who worked closely with the artist to achieve this specific type of blue: ‘I wanted to create an image no longer in black and white as I always did at that time, but an image with a certain blue, not a Kleinian blue, that is, the blue that makes everything happy and cheerful, but a dark blue, a kind of copying blue typical of my works; it contains some black, it’s a blue that tends toward purple but is not purple […] It was the colour of that old copying paper used with typewriters; if someone drew on it with a pencil, it would leave this strange blue mark … it’s also the blue of war … when there were bombings, we had to cover the windows with a certain blue paper, otherwise the city lights could be seen from the sky, and they would bomb from the sky.’1
