NOTE:
‘Third-generation’ Schermo (Screen)composed of white ‘non-woven fabric’ canvas stretched over a shaped, projecting balsa frame. As stated on the rear of the work, dedicated to friend and curator Maria Silvia Farci, this is a ‘post-prototype’, the first in a series of screens made early in the new century, which the artist referred to as ‘third-generation’. For greater insight into the concept of ‘schermo’ in Mauri’s work, see the introductory essays.
