The subject revisits the theme of the Apocalypse that dominated the artist’s paper-based works in the first half of the 1980s: a series of landscapes with leaden skies featuring dark clouds, rays and apocalyptic trumpets on the horizon, heralding a catastrophe about to befall now-desolate lands, where perhaps the only remaining survivors are slender black flowers.
