Work discovered in the artist’s studio. Undated and unsigned, it was part of Mauri’s 1960s artistic experimentations. The apparent white drips are actually strips of paint removed from a monochrome painting, possibly using a cutter, making it the opposite of a drip painting, with spontaneity of gesture replaced by meticulous excision.
