NOTE:

A sheet of semi-transparent paper with the words ‘THE END’ in the centre, pulled taut to screen a black wooden square with rounded corners, divided into two halves juxtaposed vertically against a white background, spaced a few inches apart. Two identical versions of this Schermo (Screen) were made (inv. 192, 193). For greater insight into the concept of ‘schermo’ in Mauri’s work, see the introductory essays.
