NOTE:
Screen-drawing characterised by a black frame painted around the edges of a sheet of paper over a base of blue tempera, defining a ‘field for projection’, covered in slightly glossy white enamel. A woman’s face, transferred using the decalcomania technique, and two half-ovals resembling the pools of movie lights (see also inv. 896, 897), emerge from the white surface of the screen as if it were a fading video. For greater insight into the concept of ‘schermo’ in Mauri’s work, see the introductory essays.
