Square-format, screen-drawing characterised by a black frame painted around the edges of a sheet of paper, defining a ‘field for projection’. Great material richness unfolds within, combining tempera, graphite, transfers of printed images using trichloroethylene, synthetic oil enamel, India ink, charcoal and pastel. Among the stencilled letters, the word ‘DIRECTOR’ echoes the title of the Schermo (Screen) dedicated to American director D.W. Griffith (inv. 206, 773).
