Screen-drawing characterised by a black frame painted around the edges of a sheet of paper, defining a ‘field for projection’, within which a Schermo (Screen) with the word ‘FINE’ (THE END) in the centre predominates. This work differs in its experimental pictorial subject matter, consisting of enamel, graphite pencil, felt-tip pen, synthetic silkscreen oil and, distinguishable only on the rear, images transferred using the decalcomania technique, subsequently covered over by the painted background. For greater insight into the concept of ‘schermo’ in Mauri’s work, see the introductory essays.
