NOTE:

This Schermo (Screen) on panel is characterised by twenty black-painted wooden plaques with rounded corners, arranged in five rows by four columns. This work is part of a series of Schermi that Mauri made between 1960 and 1962, in which abstract and geometric elements introduce traces of the urban context into the work. For greater insight into the concept of ‘schermo’ in Mauri’s work, see the introductory essays.
