NOTE:

This picture is an accidentally broken ‘first-generation’ paper Schermo (Screen), reassembled in the middle of a white monochrome board, contained in an open-sided wooden frame. Rather than being restored, the damaged work was represented here as an object of the world in all its material fragility, subject to the passage of Time and History. For greater insight into the concept of ‘schermo’ in Mauri’s work, see the introductory essays.
